'Dit is geen Best Of. Op een ander moment zou ik een andere keuze hebben gemaakt; maar in onzeker tijden zijn het deze gedichten die mij aanspreken. Verzen voor het lange heden. 
Wat hebben we eigenlijk aan poëzie? Wat we vandaag willen, wat we écht nodig hebben, dat is toch een vaccin, een baan, het kunnen omhelzen van onze familie? Maar nu de dingen die vanzelfsprekend waren niet altijd meer voorhanden zijn, is er houvast waar we anders ongrijpbaarheid vinden: in de poëzie.'
